버몬트 대학교 영문학과에서 비판이론과 영화를 강의하고 있다. 그는 The Feminine “No!”: Psychoanalysis and the New Canon(SUNY Press, 2001)과 The End of Dissatisfaction? Jacques Lacan and the Emerging Society of Enjoyment(SUNY Press, 2004)의 저자이다.
