At first, I assumed that The Fault in Our Stars by John Green would merely explore familiar themes of adolescence and young love — subjects I often avoid because they tend to feel unrealistic.
Yet, as I read on, I discovered that the novel is far less about romantic clichés and far more about the profound complexity of life. It invites readers to step into the intimate world of its characters. Hazel and Augustus may appear to be ordinary teenagers, but their experiences are shaped by the extraordinary burden of living with cancer.
When I finished the book, one question stayed with me: Are people only truly moral when their presence can still be felt in tangible ways?
Though Augustus passes away, his influence and memory remain deeply alive in Hazel’s heart — just as my grandfather continues to live on in mine.
