Starbucks has achieved the status of the world's largest coffee franchise in the world.
As a startup fanatic, I believe the concept of "lean startup" and "MVP" can apply here, as Starbucks make their own partners (employee) their first super-fan. Then, they expand to their customers. Starbucks has adopted program that would increase loyalty among customers. As a franchise with thousands of locations in the world, Starbucks understood the importance of QC, where customers would receive the same quality coffee as they expected, as much as having variations, which would make their experience slightly more unique.
Perhaps, the book was written by a professor who is only book-smart and does not possess any real-world experience, which makes it easy to write a book about it without truly understand what is happening out there. Tho, I must say that the book is well-written enough to partly explain the success behind the Starbucks. Perhaps, Starbucks has what it takes to become 100 years old company.
